Toddlers/1s

Toddlers, or 1s as we call them, are our one year olds at Canaland. Your little ones are awesome and we love to help them feel that way! As a child develops and grows by the month, we group children with others the same age as they are, so they are growing developmentally with their friends from little on.

Toddler's daily learning time is integrated throughout the day. Children learn needs-based American Sign Language (please, thank you, more, etc.), colors, shapes, basic words, body part and object recognition, etc. Large and fine motor development opportunities throughout the day, along with outside play when the weather allows.

2K-A/2s

When your child turns 2, they will transition into our 2K-A class, a part of our toddlers department designed just for our energetic and curious 2-year-olds! This class introduces a little more structure with circle time and simple activities, while still being primarily play-focused to encourage hands-on learning and social development.

In the fall, children will move up to 2K-B or 3K, depending on their age. You may also hear us call this group our 2s class—a fun and engaging environment where little ones begin to explore, learn, and grow!

Meals

Breakfast, hot lunch and snack are provided each day for all children on a regular diet. The menu is posted at the sign-in table, for your convenience. If your child is on a special diet (i.e. vegan, vegetarian, etc.), you will need to provide any substitutes. If your child has an allergy we will provide a substitute.

In the event of an allergy, we are required to have a Doctor’s note to keep on file for our food program records.
